The third week...

Hello everyone... It's me again...

Today I want to discuss 3 topics:
- Flora & Fauna of this beautiful city
- The weather, that was killing me all this week
- And finally how tough this week was

Let's start with Flora and Fauna.
The office where I am doing my internship in is located near my house, but in between my house and the office there is a big lake. Whenever I have my lunch break I am going there and chilling. The "Flora" of this city is actually very beautiful, I really like it. Notwithstanding Brussels is a big city, and it is not as green as, for example, countryside, but you can find many beautiful thing while walking around Brussels. Here are some views I can share with you:

The "Fauna" is also very interesting. As I mentioned that there is the lake near the office, and there are many birds. Of course those are ducks, gooses and swans. But there is one kind of birds that I have never seen before. This bird actually looks pretty, but also angry. Just look at it:

Secondly I am going to talk about the weather.
This week the weather was really unstable, I couldn't work properly, everything I wanted to do was to stay at home under my blanket and drink tea. Seriously, I couldn't even imagine that it can be so cold in Brussels. Last week it was sunny, you could just wear shorts and T-shirt, but this week it became extremely cold. Even at home I was freezing, I couldn't feel my hands while I was staying at home. But my work placement saved me. It was the only place, where it was warm and I didn't need to wear a sweater.

And the last thing we are going to talk today is my work placement. This week was really tough week I needed to work really hard to achieve what my work placement supervisor wanted me to achieve. Do you remember the Benelux Venture Forum I was talking about last week? There is a deadline for applying for presenting companies and this deadline was on 30 of September. So it means that today is the last day when company can apply. I have already told you that Tech Tour doesn't have enough companies who applied, so I needed to find more companies for this event and I could use my creativity to do it.

Firstly, I had big database with companies and numbers, I called them two days in a row, I was talking to different people, answering their questions, promoting the event. This was kind of difficult, because when you do it all over again you are getting tired. Some people making you grumpy, some people make you smile, just with the way they are talking to you.
Secondly, I haven't told you before, but I am responsible for social media campaign, so I need to find the information for Tech Tour's social media and then make is catchy for their clients. I needed to search for interesting articles that matches the event or its participants. It tooks a lot of time and energy.
There are three main topics I can write the tweets about:
- Why is the Netherlands the best place for startups? (Because the event will be in Maastricht, in the Netherlands)
- About Tech Tour's past participants and their success stories
- And promotion for the event.
It is difficult to find some recent articles that were not used before for tweets, because every week I need to write 3 tweets and then post them. So just imagine looking for the recent articles which were not used from the beginning of this event promotion.

This is it for this week. Hope you enjoyed my weekly blog... See you next week..

 And every week interesting fact..
Brussels has a fries museum! A fries museum!!!! Yay!

The forth week in Brussels..

Guess who's back? Back again... Sooooo let's start with the week number four. Today I will talk about my work placement more than about the Brussels or its weather. This week started with a "Work from home" job. Due to my English retake exam I wasn't able to work in the office, so I asked my supervisor to do everything I could do at home. And she agreed. While working at home I found out that this is not the type of work I like. I feel so lazy at home, I don't have any motivation to work. I think it is due to a lot of other things I actually can do at home, and these things are more interesting than work. Work from home..This made me think of "HOME". Person usually has only one place, where it feels like home. But I have two of these places. One is my flat back to Latvia, and the other one is just a small room in Deventer. I felt so warm and cozy when I came from Brussels to Deventer. I felt like home, I wanted to stay there and did...

The second week

Hello everyone! This is the second week of my work placement. Are you excited to read about what I went through on the second week of my work placement? If yes , then read everything below, you will find it out. But firstly, I want to tell you more about the event I am working on.  I mentioned it last week.  The Benelux Venture Forum. This is the event for only Benelux region companies. Do you know what the Benelux region is? If you want me to tell you the truth, I didn’t know what the Benelux region is, but when I started this work placement I found out that these are 3 countries. Benelux countries are the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Should we consider this as an interesting fact I’ve promised to tell you every week? I don’t think so.  So actually, now I know that the country I am doing my internship in is from the Benelux region. But looking forward to Benelux Venture forum event... What it actually is? Benelux Venture forum (BVF) is th...
