Work placement in Brussels

It is almost the end of the month. The new event is already coming. What did I go through this week? I don't really know what happened, but I was feeling so depressed and lonely. Is it a culture shock or what?  If yes, then it took too much time. Actually, this year was really difficult year, I needed to face a lot of things, the things I didn't want to face. I would never wish someone to feel the same. And this week became like break point for me. I was never asking for a help, and maybe this caused this depression, I was always trying to solve everything alone. Now I understand that it is not how it should work, people need to share their feelings with the other people, so it can become a bit easier to live your life, to overcome those difficulties. Let's start with the table of contents again. Like all the previous weeks. Firstly, I would like to talk about travelling back to the Netherlands. Secondly, the Benelux Venture Forum event. Thirdly, feedback and emotions that I got at the every first event. And lastly, preparation for the next event in Dusseldorf. So let me start with the travelling. Me and my three other colleagues started our journey on Monday's midday. As I told you before Tech Tour has three different offices, so one colleague came from Sofia, to go to this event. Only me, my supervisor and colleague from Sofia were working on this event, and the last colleague went with us, to help to set up everything. Actually, I have never thought that such a big event can be prepared only with three people. How should I start this week's blog?  Every week I had time to write the blog for you all at work , but this weekly blog I am writing at home, because this week was really busy; new experience. Now table of contents. Actually, the table of contents makes it easier for me to structure my blog. This week became even busier than it was last week, as the event, Benelux Venture Forum event in Maastricht, is already approaching. The next week’s Monday we are going to Maastricht, as the event will take place on Tuesday. You could ask why are we going on Monday not Tuesday then? Well... The BVF will start at 10am on Tuesday, so we need to prepare everything in advance. By the way, this will be 2 days event. ...

A n ew month equals new adventures. Or better to say a new day equals new adventures? It depends on how you live your life. This month will give me more and more adventures and I am waiting for them. But now let's talk about this week! On one hand this week is very lazy week for me. This week there was an official day off on Thursday, as 1st November is all Saint's day. Actually this celebration, if I can call it a celebration, takes place on the 1st and the 2nd of November, but the official day off is only on the 1st of November. So this Thursday each and everyone could stay home and sleep. This day was really lazy, I just enjoyed myself, it could be better if I could enjoy the weather, but unfortunately it was raining the whole Thursday.  Don't you think that it always happens? This week I would like to talk about some small things at work. This weekly blog I would like to start with the previous week. The previous week was the funniest week since I have been here. You would ask me why... I will tell you. As was told before the office I am working in has only 8 employees, and previous week everyone, except me and my supervisor was gone. There was an event in Italy, and two of the employees flight there, the other my colleague went to the other event in London and the others worked from home. It was very quiet in the office, especially when my supervisor left. I was alone in the office for a couple of hours, I was trying to work, and I actually did what I was assigned to, but it was quite difficult for me. You don't want to work when nobody is working, you just feel lazy. I felt like a cat, I just wanted to lay on the ground and do nothing. But there was also an advantage of staying alone, I was leaving earlier those days as my supervisor let me do so....

What do you think I mean with the "life outside"? For me it is the time that I don't spend in the office now, my free time. Free time? Yaaaay.. At my free time I am usually trying to relax at home, or I am walking around the neighborhood. By the way my neighborhood is called Ixelles. It is really nice place to live in, here are a lot of students, because the VUB university is located in the middle of this neighborhood. Guess who's back? Back again... Sooooo let's start with the week number four. Today I will talk about my work placement more than about the Brussels or its weather. This week started with a "Work from home" job. Due to my English retake exam I wasn't able to work in the office, so I asked my supervisor to do everything I could do at home. And she agreed. While working at home I found out that this is not the type of work I like. I feel so lazy at home, I don't have any motivation to work. I think it is due to a lot of other things I actually can do at home, and these things are more interesting than work. Work from home..This made me think of "HOME". Person usually has only one place, where it feels like home. But I have two of these places. One is my flat back to Latvia, and the other one is just a small room in Deventer. Today I want to discuss 3 topics: - Flora & Fauna of this beautiful city - The weather, that was killing me all this week - And finally how tough this week was Let's start with Flora and Fauna. The office where I am doing my internship in is located near my house, but in between my house and the office there is a big lake. Whenever I have my lunch break I am going there and chilling. The "Flora" of this city is actually very beautiful, I really like it. Notwithstanding Brussels is a big city, and it is not as green as, for example, countryside, but you can find many beautiful thing while walking around Brussels. Hello everyone! This is the second week of my work placement. Are you excited to read about what I went through on the second week of my work placement? If yes , then read everything below, you will find it out. But firstly, I want to tell you more about the event I am working on.  I mentioned it last week.  The Benelux Venture Forum. This is the event for only Benelux region companies. Do you know what the Benelux region is? If you want me to tell you the truth, I didn’t know what the Benelux region is, but when I started this work placement I found out that these are 3 countries.
