The first week of November

A new month equals new adventures. Or better to say a new day equals new adventures? It depends on how you live your life. This month will give me more and more adventures and I am waiting for them.

But now let's talk about this week!
On one hand this week is very lazy week for me. This week there was an official day off on Thursday, as 1st November is all Saint's day. Actually this celebration, if I can call it a celebration, takes place on the 1st and the 2nd of November, but the official day off is only on the 1st of November. So this Thursday each and everyone could stay home and sleep. This day was really lazy, I just enjoyed myself, it could be better if I could enjoy the weather, but unfortunately it was raining the whole Thursday.
Don't you think that it always happens? When you have to work it is sunny and warm, but you cannot go out and enjoy it, but when you have your day off, the weather is really bad? Does it always happen to me only? I suppose that these are just the coincidences. After the day off it is difficult to start working again, you want to stay in your bed in the morning and just sleep, especially when it is Friday, but you understand that you have to go.

I told you that on the one hand the week was lazy, but on the other hand it became even busier than it was the last week. On Wednesday morning my supervisor gave me some tasks to do, I thought that I will be able to finish them within one day, but I was wrong. There were too many thing I needed to do. As the event is approaching I have to get a lot of stuff  ready. One really nice thing on Wednesday was that I wanted to work hard, I don't have any ideas where did this wish came from, but I worked even during my lunch time, as I really wanted to make things done.
So I worked the whole day, but still haven't finished everything. So I had some things left for Friday. The most funny thing on the Wednesday was that everyone has left at around 5 in the evening, but I supposed to work until 6 in the evening. Of course I could go earlier as everyone, but I already told you about the wish of working hard :D And also, as it is dark outside at 6 in the evening already, I enjoyed it. I really like when it is dark outside, I feel so comfortable and relaxed. Maybe I am too weird :D

The next topic I would like to discuss is a changing system at Tech Tour. Tech Tour's managing director together with one of my colleagues are currently working on business model and canvas proposition of the company, and it is really interesting, as this colleague shares the ideas with me, so I can make my final work placement plan for university.
By the way the final work I am working on at Tech Tour is not really difficult to work on, a lot of people are ready to help me any time. I think I am the one of only few students who has done a lot for the final work placement plan already. I am communicating with some of my classmates, and all of them are saying that they haven't even started yet, I think this is really bad decision to not starting it even earlier.
Let's get back to the changes. Tech Tour is currently facing a lot of changes, I really like the way they are working on their problems. It is really small company, but I didn't think that they would work like that. So they are developing business model, they are trying to expand, they are now hiring new people, they will take more and more interns, now they have plan to take up to 6 interns and they are also changing the system, where all the data is stored, to make it less complicated for employees of the company.
So far I can say that I am really happy that I got the chance to do my internship in this company, I hope in my future they will help me to get the investors for my business. We will see!

This week fact:
You can drink a Belgian beer every day for 4 years and never have the same beer twice. There is some uncertainty about the exact number of different Belgian beers, but according to most sources there are at least 1,000-1,200 original Belgian beers brewed in Belgium. On top of that, there are many different types of beers under the same name. That explains why you can find a café that serves more than 1,700 different Belgian beers in Brussels (look for Café Délirium).

The forth week in Brussels..

Guess who's back? Back again... Sooooo let's start with the week number four. Today I will talk about my work placement more than about the Brussels or its weather. This week started with a "Work from home" job. Due to my English retake exam I wasn't able to work in the office, so I asked my supervisor to do everything I could do at home. And she agreed. While working at home I found out that this is not the type of work I like. I feel so lazy at home, I don't have any motivation to work. I think it is due to a lot of other things I actually can do at home, and these things are more interesting than work. Work from home..This made me think of "HOME". Person usually has only one place, where it feels like home. But I have two of these places. One is my flat back to Latvia, and the other one is just a small room in Deventer. I felt so warm and cozy when I came from Brussels to Deventer. I felt like home, I wanted to stay there and did...

The third week...

Hello everyone... It's me again... Today I want to discuss 3 topics: - Flora & Fauna of this beautiful city - The weather, that was killing me all this week - And finally how tough this week was Let's start with Flora and Fauna. The office where I am doing my internship in is located near my house, but in between my house and the office there is a big lake. Whenever I have my lunch break I am going there and chilling. The "Flora" of this city is actually very beautiful, I really like it. Notwithstanding Brussels is a big city, and it is not as green as, for example, countryside, but you can find many beautiful thing while walking around Brussels. Here are some views I can share with you: The "Fauna" is also very interesting. As I mentioned that there is the lake near the office, and there are many birds. Of course those are ducks, gooses and swans. But there is one kind of birds that I have never seen before. This bird actually l...

Hello everyone! This is the second week of my work placement. Are you excited to read about what I went through on the second week of my work placement? If yes , then read everything below, you will find it out. But firstly, I want to tell you more about the event I am working on.  I mentioned it last week.  The Benelux Venture Forum. This is the event for only Benelux region companies. Do you know what the Benelux region is? If you want me to tell you the truth, I didn’t know what the Benelux region is, but when I started this work placement I found out that these are 3 countries. Benelux countries are the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Should we consider this as an interesting fact I’ve promised to tell you every week? I don’t think so.  So actually, now I know that the country I am doing my internship in is from the Benelux region. But looking forward to Benelux Venture forum event... What it actually is? Benelux Venture forum (BVF) is th...
