Well... How should I
start this week's blog?
Every week I had time to write the blog for you all at
work , but this weekly blog I am writing at home, because this week was really busy;
new experience.
Now table of contents. Actually, the table of contents makes it easier for me to structure my blog. I know what I am going to talk about, and it helps to organize my thoughts.

So:
* Busy working days
* Busy working days
* Staying longer in the
office
* Golden autumn
* Step 8: university
assignment
Let’s start with the
first point, the working days. This week became even busier than it was last
week, as the event, Benelux Venture Forum event in Maastricht, is already
approaching. The next week’s Monday we are going to Maastricht, as the event
will take place on Tuesday. You could ask why are we going on Monday not
Tuesday then? Well... The BVF will start at 10am on Tuesday, so we need to
prepare everything in advance. By the way, this will be 2 days event. As we are going on
Monday, there will be three days out of office work, isn’t it nice? This
travelling is one more advantage of this work placement. Before an event, you
need to work hard to get everything ready to make the event go smoothly. Every
day of this week I needed to do many things, I really felt under the
pressure. My supervisor asked me one thing, than I needed to do another thing,
and I got a bunch of more “to do” things. I pushed myself to write them down, because I didn't want to
forget the things I supposed to do.
So here the day when I
needed to stay longer comes. Friday was the last day we could prepare
everything. Many printing materials that had to be done, many administrative
tasks that should be done too, I also needed to collect the presentations that
companies were sending to me, and prepare the name badges etc. My supervisor
asked me to stay longer on Friday to make sure that everything has been done so
far, so I stayed. We worked without the lunch, and worked longer, but I think
we did a great job; we prepared everything and just left some things for
Monday’s morning.
Next: the golden autumn. In the country where I am from,
Latvia, it is a golden autumn, and has been like that already for a long time.
However, the weird thing is that in Brussels all trees were green until this
week. Moreover, it became so beautiful, leaves were green but became yellow, a
golden yellow. Isn’t it beautiful to see how the nature is changing? I really
like it. This is the weirdest and at the same time the most beautiful autumn, I
have seen in my life.
In
addition, the last topic I would like to talk about is step 8: university
assignment. This is the first week I do not have any time at work to do my
university assignments, but I will meet all the deadlines I promised myself to
meet. I have one deadline coming up next Friday 16 of November, if I am not
mistaken it’s Friday, but anyways I have the reminder in my calendar, in case I
forget about it. The next assignment that has to be done is intermediate
assignment by the company supervisor and Personal Development form 2. Personal
Development form has to be done together with the supervisor, so she can give a
proper comment on how I can better develop myself. I talked to my supervisor
and we decided that we will do these two assignments in the train while going
to the event in Maastricht and if will not manage to finish it there, and then
we will do it after the event in the office. I think that many assignments are
done in the train while travelling, especially in the Netherlands, but those
are only my thoughts. I know that I will manage and submit my assignments on
time, as this is the main point of good time management. Everything has to be
done on time, or even a couple days before the deadline, so you will never feel
the pressure of the time.
Weekly fact:
The world’s deepest swimming pool, reaching 35 meters in depth, can be found in Brussels. It is a practice ground for scuba divers. Funny enough, it’s name is Nemo33.
